Got extra long specialised inner tubes but turns out they weren’t long enough for 80mm rims. Now using vittoria tubes with removable valves so you can extend them to suit. I’ll try and dig out a link (got them from chainreaction cycles)

I may be really really thick ( no suprise honestly ) but I run tubs on race wheels so I don’t need tubes just valve extenders !!

Or have I got it totally wrong!!!!

You can see why I need this bike course day at Bridgetown, I suck. Lol

Mike does some good ones for £15 for 4…..

I would recommend using the ones where you have to remove the core on the present valve screw on the extender and then screw the core into the end of the extender…..they seal better than the cheaper ones which just screw on top over the core and you have to leave the valve open to put any air in.

Get some PTFE tape too, (plumbers use it for sealing unions and sparkies use it for ealing connectors) whack that on the threads to stop any random slow leaks between extender and original extension.

you should get a small key with them to use to undo and tighten them up….keep that with you in your ‘on bike’ tool kit otherwise you will have the same problem I had in the tour of the peak where I couldnt take the extender off when I had a puncture to put on the spare tub….

The longer the extender sticks out the rim the better for inflating with….
